The Vimy Tree

In 2017 Notre Dame celebrated their 75th anniversary, 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, and Canada's 150 birthday with the planting of a special tree. This "Vimy Oak" is the descendant of an acorn collected at the end of the battle in 1917 by a Canadian soldier who planted it when he returned to his home in Scarborough. In the past 5 years this tree has doubled in size and continues to be a great reminder of the past, present, and future for the Notre Dame community.
